Other Information:
Bart became involved with the program when his kids started bowling in the Pilgrim
Lanes Kids TV League. Toni-Marie Baldinelli came along and she and Bart clicked, and the ICYBA took off. Bart can be
found volunteering his time each Saturday morning at Pilgrim Lanes coaching the kids. He donates hundreds of hours a year
to the kids, and has proven time and time again that he will do anything for them. He is the one who organizes all the tournaments
(an extremely heavy task), the patch program, and the annual Canada trip. He also began the "Star of the Week" program
this season. Bart is a wonderful teacher, not only of bowling, but of good attitude and sportsmanship, which this program
believes is more important then skills. The time and dedication Bart puts into this program is unthinkable. Bart rarely
accepts credit for himself where it is due, and he is one of the most modest, friendly, generous, and outgoing people you
will ever meet. The ICYBA and the sport of Candlepin Bowling would not be near what it is today if not for people like Bart.
Bart is the supervisor of natural gas opperations at Bay State Gas and Northern
Utilities, and in the little free time he allows himself, he enjoys cooking, and spending time with his family. Bart also
enjoys music and theater, volunteering many hours a year at the Timberlane Performing Arts Center as the head usher. This
shows once again how generous this man is, stopping at nothing to give to his community as well as any youths. Bart was recognized
for his efforts in 2002, as he was awarded the International Candlepin Bowling Hall of Fame President's Cup Award, an extremely
prestigious honor.
The sport of candlepin bowling and youth participation in it would be nowhere
near where it is today if not for Bart Maderios. On behalf of the ICYBA, thank you, Bart, for all that you do!
Quote from Bart:
"The rewards from this program are
larger and more meaningful than any compensation available. To see a smile of appreciation or advice put to good use stays
with a person forever!"
