Tournaments
Our kids have the opportunity to bowl in many tournaments throughout the
season. 3 of them are international and one is statewide. These three tournaments give the kids the chance to bowl at
the highest competitive level possible, while meeting new people and having fun at the same time. Here are the details on
these fine competitions.
International Candlepin Bowling Association Youth Championships
This tournament is held in November through the first week in December each year.
It is held at the Bowl-O-Rama in Portsmouth, NH, and hosted by Nick Genimatas and Kathleen VanCantfort . Bowlers from Massachusetts,
New Hampshire, Maine, and Canada compete in 4 age divisions for both boys and girls:
Division 1: ages 10 and under Division 2: ages 11-13 Division 3: ages
14-15 Division 4: ages 16 and up (still in high school)
Bowlers compete in 3 events: teams or 5 (3 games each),
doubles (5 games each), and singles (5 games each). The total of all 13 games creates an additional event, called all-events.
Awards are given out to each bowler in each event for the top 3 places. The boy and girl who have the highest all-events total
pinfallin divisions 3 and 4 combined receive a $1000 college scholarship.

Atlantic Coast Junior Bowling
Classic
Held at the Woodside Bowlarama, and the South Centre Bowlarama in Dartmouth,
Nova Scotia, Canada in March and April, this tournament also features youth bowlers from Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Maine,
and Canada compete in 4 age divisions for both boys and girls:
Division 1: ages 10 and under Division 2: ages 11-13 Division 3: ages
14-15 Division 4: ages 16 and up (still in high school)
Bowlers compete in 3 events: teams or 5 (3 games each),
doubles (5 games each), and singles (5 games each). The total of all 13 games creates an additional event, called all-events.

Massachusetts State Tournament, Youth Events
This tournament is held in May each year. It is hosted by three different area
centers, Pilgrim Lanes in Haverhill (North of Boston), Bayberry Bowling Center in Spencer (West of Boston), and Alley Kat
Lanes in Kingston (South of Boston). Bowlers from throughout Massachusetts compete in 4 age divisions for both boys and girls:
Division 1: ages 10 and under Division 2: ages 11-13 Division 3: ages
14-15 Division 4: ages 16 and up (still in high school)
Bowlers compete in 3 events: teams or 5 (3 games each),
doubles (5 games each), and singles (5 games each). The total of all 13 games creates an additional event, called all-events.
Awards are given out to each bowler in each event in each area for the top 3 places. The boy and girl who have the highest
all-events total pinfall in divisions 3 and 4 combined in each area go to the championship at Lanes and Games in Cambridge,
where they will compete for scholarship money. 3rd place winners receive a $200 scholarship, 2nd place winners receive a $300
scholarship, and 1st place winners receive a $500 scholarship.

Adult Youth Tournament
This tournament is held each year in July at Pilgrim Lanes in Haverhill. It
is a great opportunity to compete with your child, instead of just encouraging and cheering them on! The cost is $30.00 per
team (bowling fee: $15.00, prize fee $15.00) and it is limited to first 36 paid entries received. It consists of 3 strings of bowling with awards to be presented at the conclusion of the tournament.

Rules

- One adult 18 years old and older, one youth under 18 years old. Male, female
or mixed teams.
- Must have an established league average. (Any bowling center average acceptable.
Minimum 18 games. Verification of average may be required. False averages will be disqualified.)
- Paid entries must be received by the deadline. Late entries may be accepted by
director, if awards are available. Contact Bart for possible late entries.

- No refunds. Awards will be based on paid entries.
- 100% handicap. (based on 250 combined average.)
- ICBA Rules & Regulations in effect.
- Tournament will begin at 9:30am. Participants not present by 9:20am will not
be allowed to bowl!
- Tournament director will make final decisions.
- This is a FUN tournament. Proper behavior is expected!
Pilgrim Lanes Scholarship Tournament
This Tournament is held annually in June and is for Pilgrim Lanes Junior League
bowlers who participate in at least 80% of the season. It is divided into 2 divisions- 13 and under and 14-18. The top 3 bowlers
who are most over their average in each division receive college scholarships. 1st place receives $250, 2nd place receives
$150, and 3rd place receives $100.
